Dining For A Cause

Miss Ruby’s Kids - “Dining for a Cause”
Hanser House – October 18, 2018

Hanser House, a family-owned restaurant located at 14360 Ocean Highway in the Litchfield area of Pawleys Island, will host Miss Ruby’s Kids’ “Dining for a Cause” on Thursday, October 18th. Hanser House maintains a tradition of contributing to local charities; this is the seventh consecutive year that Hanser House has agreed to sponsor this event. The “Dining for a Cause” program benefits Miss Ruby’s Kids’ early childhood education program for two & three year old children and their parents/caregivers.

Nita Hanser (Granny) and her family built the Hanser House restaurant opening it in 1999. Heath Hanser joined the family business after graduating from college and he now is the head chef and manager. Their emphasis is on maintaining a family dining atmosphere and providing great food with home cooked flavor.

A wide variety of appetizers, soups, stews, and salads are offered. Fried, grilled and broiled seafood entrees are served with the famous and delicious Hanser House hushpuppies. Specialty entrees include “Fresh from Murrells Inlet Catch of the Day,” lobster tails, or snow crab legs. Land Lovers have several choices of steaks, chicken, pork chops, or barbecue ribs. Signature items feature shrimp and grits, Jambalaya, and flounder stuffed with crabmeat.

Hanser House is only open for dinner beginning at 4:00 p.m. The popular Early Bird Specials are available from 4:00 – 6 p.m. There is also a Senior Menu and one especially for Kids. Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling 843-235-3021. Private dining rooms are available for large groups.

Hanser House is one of several area restaurants that have generously agreed to donate a portion of their day’s proceeds to further the work of Miss Ruby’s Kids. This unique, early intervention literacy program for families in need is the only in home program in Georgetown county. We begin working with two and three-year-old children and parents/caregivers, then continue to support the children, when they reach school age, through the volunteer education mentor program. We believe that the first five years are the best time to invest in our children’s lives. Our goal is to inspire a passion for learning in two and three year old children and their parents/care givers. It is our hope, that all children in Georgetown County will enter school prepared to learn, supported by their families, and will graduate from high school as productive citizens

Please join your neighbors and the many friends of Miss Ruby’s Kids at Hanser House on October 18th to show support of the program and to acknowledge the participation of the Hanser family.
